Lesson 9: Prepare to Share

Try This: Do the following steps
1. Open your Brown Bag Lunch database.

Or, you may download BBL Adv ver9.accdb

2. Create a CrossTab Query with the Query Wizard.

Use the following answers:
Record Source: ItemSQ.
Row Headings: Type
Column Headings: Specialty
Select Item for the Calculated Field and use COUNT for the Function. Save the Query: ItemSQ_Crosstab.

3. Export the ItemSQ_Crosstab to Microsoft Excel. Save it in your Documents Folder.

4. Go to the Documents Folder, open the spreadsheet in Excel and review the data. Did this spreadsheet include any Formulas? Close this file and return to Access.

5. Save and Close the Query.

6. Go to Access and open a Report: Products by Specialty.

7. Export the Report as a Text File. Save it to your Documents Folder as Products by Specialty-rtf. Go to the Documents Folder, open the document in Word and review the formatting. Close this file and return to Access.

8. Export the Report as a PDF File. Save it to your Documents Folder as Products by Specialty-pdf. Go to the Documents Folder, open the document in Adobe Acrobat. Close this file and return to Access.

9. Close the Report. Close the Brown Bag Lunch database.
