3.3 Filter and Sort a Table: Filter Records (Clear All Filters)

Data: Subtotals

A Subtotal organizes and summarizes lists of data. The Subtotal function offers more options than calculating the Total in a Table. Subtotals can include Summary Functions (SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT) as well as a Grand Total.

 

There are two steps to creating a Subtotal:

1. Sort by the field you want.

2. Subtotal by the same field.

 

Before You Begin: Copy the Worksheet

Right-click the Customer List tab.

Click on Move or Copy.

Check: Create a Copy.

Click OK to create the copy.

Rename the sheet: Subtotal by City.

 

Still Before You Begin: Clear All Filters

Go to the Subtotal by City sheet.

Select Row 1.

Go to Data -> Sort & Filter-> Filter.

 

All Filters should be cleared from the Header Row. Keep going, please...
