Say you
are ready to E-mail this file around the office for comments and
review. Before you send it out you may wish to consider
if you should Share or Protect your work. Let's think about what protecting the data means. When you Protect a sheet
or workbook, you are restricting what users can or cannot do.
1. Try it:
Protect the Sheet
Go to Review->Changes.
Select Protect Sheet.
What Do
You See? You will
be prompted to Protect worksheet and contents of locked cells. By default,
when you Protect a worksheet all of the cells will be locked. You
can select which options you would allow your users to do, such as
Insert row or Format cells.
You can
enter a Password to unprotect the sheet, or not.
