Exam 77-428 Microsoft Excel 2013 EXPERT
1. Manage and Share Workbooks
1.2 Prepare a Workbook for Review: Protect Workbook (Encrypt with Password)

Info: User Permissions

5. Consider This: Restricting Access
The security settings shown in the previous pages are "all or nothing." Either the file is locked or it is not. The Permissions are applied to the sheet or to the entire workbook.

Permission can also be based on Users and Groups. When you Restrict Access you can decide who has access to your spreadsheet.

The Permissions are authenticated by Digital Signatures: each person has a secure ID that identifies them.

So, this process has two steps: getting a Digital ID, and then granting Permission to Digital IDs that you trust.

A Digital Signature shows who signed this document and if it was changed since it was signed. It is a way of determining if the E-mail, spreadsheet or document is authentic. Both of these options require a server which authenticates the Users. This is FYI-no demo.

Close the Time Sheet.
