Lesson: Mice and Men
Before You Begin: Start Microsoft Word 2013.
When the Welcome window appears, open a new, blank document.
Try This: Do the following steps
1. Type: January. Look for the AutoText and click ENTER
on the keyboard to insert the word.
2. Type: Monday. Look for the AutoText and click ENTER on the keyboard
to insert the word.
3. Type (tm). Watch the AutoText convert the text into the symbol
for trademark.
4. Type (c). Watch the AutoText convert the text into the symbol for
copyright.
5. Go to File->Options-> Proofing. Click on AutoCorrect Options.
6. Go to Math AutoCorrect.
7. Select Use Math AutoCorrect rules outside of math regions. Close the
AutoCorrect window.
8. Type: \approx. Watch the AutoText convert the text into the
symbol for approximate.
9. Go to Insert->Symbol. Click on the Copyright symbol.
10. Go to Insert->Symbol. Click on the Trademark symbol.
11. Go to Insert->Equation. Click on Pythagorean Theorem.
12. Close Microsoft Word. When you are prompted, click Don't Save.
