Before You Begin: Open a Different File
Browse to the Documents Folder.
Open a file: Charlotte's Labels.docx
Look at the Mail Merge labels, you should see some code: <<Next Record>>. This Mail Merge field reads
your recipient lists and finds the next name on the list. This field was
added automatically as part of the Mail Merge.
Microsoft Word 2013 simplified the Mail Merge
programming with new Rules. These options were available in
previous versions of Microsoft Office but you had to look for them
buried deep in the advanced dialogue boxes.
Try It: Find the Rules
Go to
Mailings.
Go to
Write and Insert Fields.
Go to Rules.
Next Record is one of the Rules.
Next Record If...adds a Record based on your criteria. Lets look at the Rules.
