What Are We Going to Do?
The first task is to get the right tools. PowerPivot is part of Microsoft Excel, however the Add-In software needs to be enabled.
The second task is to get the data. The Tables are in a Microsoft Access database. This lesson will use PowerPivot to get the External Data.
The purpose of creating the PowerPivot is to create a relationship between the Tables. So the third task is to create a Data Mode and use that model in a PivotTable.
Finally, the Data Model can be used to create Power View Reports as well. That's the plan.
What are the Requirements?
This lesson is an
introduction to Advanced Excel and Access. Both Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access should be installed on your computer.
Please
keep going...
Memo to Self: As of this writing, PowerPivot does not work with the version of Microsoft Office available on Slate computers: Windows RT.
