Edit and Format the Money

Say the net profit on a dozen eggs is $1.50 after shipping and handling. Pretend these are gourmet eggs, sold on the Internet. You don’t need to type the dollar sign. We’re going to format the Column for currency.

8. Try This: Enter the Data

Select Cell C2 and type: 1.50.

Try This, Too: Format the Cells

Select Column C.

Go to Home->Number.

Select Accounting (dollar sign) from the Number Formats. Accounting formats the Cells so the dollars and cents line up.

And Try This: AutoFill the Data

Select Cell C3 and AutoFill the $1.50 by double clicking on the little square handle.

What Do You See? The money should be copied all the way down to Cell C24.
