3.1 Apply Functions in Formulas: Logical Functions (Not)

Logical Functions: NOT

The NOT function returns the opposite answer: changes FALSE to TRUE or vice versa.

 
Before You Begin: Add Another Column

Select Column G.

Go to Home->Cells->Insert.

There should a new, blank Column G.

 

1. Try it: Create a Logical Formula
Select Cell G1 and type: Won't Pay in 30.
Select Cell G1 and format the label BOLD.

Select Cell G2.
Go to Formulas->Function Library ->Logical.
Click on NOT.

What Do You See? Microsoft Excel will prompt you to fill in the Arguments.
Logical1: C2=30


2. Try This: Fill Down the Formula
Select: Cell G2.
Autofill the equation in Cells G3:G5.
The answer should be FALSE or TRUE.

Formulas ->Function Library ->Logical ->NOT
