Change the AutoCorrect Options
Try It: Change the AutoCorrect Options
The Word Options are still open. Proofing is selected.
Click on AutoCorrect Options at the top of the Proofing page.
A new window with several pages (tabs) of options will open. Click on AutoCorrect.
At the top of the AutoCorrect page is a list of
Capitalization options. Microsoft Word capitalizes:
First letter of sentences
First letter in a table cell
Names of days
Replace text as you type:
Earlier in this lesson we played with a few symbols and
emoticons. This is the page that lets you add and change the AutoCorrect
words. For example, if you type ;) it will be replaced with a smiley
face.
You can add a phrase to AutoCorrect and have Microsoft Office spell it
out for you automatically. The buttons are pretty obvious: you can
ADD or REMOVE any text in this list.
